Who is the best candidate that never got the presidency?

Forum for talking about failed presidential candidates and other historical figures (Vice Presidents, Cabinet members, etc.) Posts about people you think should have been president are also allowed here, as long as it is not political/recent.

If you were to ask me, it would be Daniel Webster. He seemed like a cool dude, and he was someone who did a lot for America. What do y'all think? Let me know down below! :D
